Prometheus

1988 -1989

I was listening to Scriabin's music with great enthusiasm at this time. His last symphony "Prometheus: The Poem of Fire" had an overwhelming effect on me and lead to the first painting of a new series that I decided to call Prometheus. The first painting Poem of Fire was the first to use a dark skeletal structure on which the colour was built. This became the basis for many works that followed. I began to use long thin brush strokes, which imbued the image with great energy. This series consisted of eight pastels and eight paintings.
