Opus 76 - 77 (1983) These two paintings were important seminal paintings in the light of all the work I have done since. Pouring washes of colour, became the starting point over which I then reworked the resulting free-form image. Symphony No.8 was inspired by Wagner's Tristan and Isolde, and Symphony No.9 by the last movement from Mahler's Song of the Earth.  |
